THE crisis generated by the recall of the senator representing Kogi west senatorial district continued on Tuesday, as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi central senatorial district, Ahovi Ibrahim, dissociated himself from the suit seeking to stop the recall.
He said he was not a party to the case instituted at the Federal High Court, Abuja, that was seeking injunction to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from halting the process.

The zonal chairman, who addressed newsmen in Lokoja, the state capital, said his authority as the central district zonal chairman could not make him to be a party to the recall of a senator from the western senatorial district.
He said, “I am the zonal chairman of APC in the central senatorial district and cannot go into taking part on issues concerning Dino Melaye from the western senatorial district.
“I am not privy to such suit filed and therefore, urged the good people of the state, most especially my zone which I serve as the zonal chairman that my humble self and my avid followers should henceforth be seen and addressed as pro government as the governor must not fail.”
Ibrahim however said despite the seemingly irreconcilable misunderstanding in the party, members should rally round the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to succeed instead of embarking on unnecessary legal tussle capable of tearing the party apart.
“Reconciliation and consistent persuasion of aggrieved members of our party should be seen as the only realistic solution to overcome our challenges and forge ahead towards the realization of our goal to move the state to the next level of development,” he appealed
The zonal chairman described Bello’s coming on board as God’s divine appealing, that efforts be made towards ensuring that his administration must not fail.
He expressed his belief in the unity of all parts of the state, stressing that unity and development could only be achieved in an atmosphere devoid of rancour and acrimony.
