According to Daily Post, the speed with which the embattled lawmaker came out of session attracted the crowd that had gathered to see the turn of events.
An official of INEC identified as Nura Mohammed was seen with an envelope trying to get his attention at a point he was entering his car, but failed to hand him the document.

Effort to speak with the INEC officials did not yield results as they all maintained sealed lips.
While the Sun is reporting that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday dropped the recall notice and other documents at the office of Senator Dino Melaye.
The embattled senator, representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, was not present as the office was met under locks.
According to channels TV, efforts by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to formally serve Senator Dino Melaye the petition the commission received from his constituents to recall him, appears to have met a brick wall.
On getting to the National Assembly today, the INEC officials discovered Senator Melaye’s office locked, forcing them to drop the documents at the door to his office.

Senator Melaye had on Monday declared during a press conference in Abuja that the time which his recall was meant to take place had elapsed.
The Senator, who represents Kogi West Senatorial district, had alleged that it was only after several attempts at his life had failed that the process of his recall initiated by his adversaries.
