Senate President Bukola Saraki on Thursday has directed Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream to suspend its recess to fix the lingering hike of fuel scarcity.
The committee, whose chairman is Senator Kabiru Marafa, has therefore been saddled with responsibility to provide solution.

The statement from Senate reads: “The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has directed the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream, Chaired by Senator Kabiru Marafa, to cut short its recess and come up with implementable solution to address the lingering fuel scarcity in the nation.
“Arising from the directive, the Committee will meet with the minister of State of Petroleum and the GMD of NNPC on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 by 12:00pm in room 221.
“The meeting will be covered live by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA)
