CA/L/969C/2017: Hon. Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa V. Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN), delivered on 11th December, 2017 where the panel led by Hon. Justice Abimbola Obaseki- Adejumo JCA held that arraignment of judicial officers without first obtaining findings of the National Judicial Council is unconstitutional.

In this regard, President of the NBA, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, SAN, OON in the quest to promote the rule of law and defend the independence of the judiciary has constituted a Committee to review the judgment with the sole aim of advising the NBA on the appropriate stand(s) to be taken in view of the public commentary being generated be the judgment. The members of the Committee are:

Prof. Adekunle Adedeji, SAN Member
Dr. Onyeachi Ikpeazu, SAN Member
Livy Yzoukwu, SAN Member
Prof. M.T. Ladan Member
The Committee has been given one (1) week to submit its report to the NBA President.
