Former Ballon d’Or winner, George Weah is currently has higher votes in the race to become 25th president of Liberia.
Weah topped the first round of voting but did not secure the 50 percent needed to defeat his opponent, Johnson Boakai.
It was gathered that that the results collated so far indicated that the former football star could win the election.

A local news medium in Liberia, soka25east, said that Weah had about 80 per cent of the votes counted so far.
Also, George Weah gave a strong indication that he had emerged as the president on his social media account.
In a disguised victory message, George Weah told his supporters that he is on the verge of making history.
The message on his twitter handle, @GeorgeWeahOff, read, “It is with deep emotion that I want to thank you, the Liberian people, for honouring me with your vote today. It is a great hope.”
However, official results are expected latest four days after the election.
