Though details were still sketchy as at the time of this report, a reliable source say two persons may have died in the alleged invasion by the Police who were in the town in search of the killers of Mayomi, a prominent indigene who died from attacks from unknown persons over the leadership crisis in the area.
The leadership crisis in the community got to a head recently when some indigenes of the community declared that Ugborodo is not part of Warri Kingdom and as such not under the over-lordship of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli.

That position was openly condemned by respected Itsekiri Leaders of Thought and called on the Delta State Government to enforce the law, insisting the Itsekiri Nation has only one monarch, which is the Olu of Warri.
Meanwhile, a very authoritative source in Warri Traditional Council (name withheld) told INDEPENDENT in a telephone chat on Sunday that the Police invasion was in search of alleged killers of Mayomi.
The alleged killers of Mayomi were said to be at large, even as it was alleged that some persons in the community (Ode-Ugborodo otherwise called Arunton) exchanged fire with the Police.
The source technically acknowledged that one person believed to be an Ilaje by tribe may have died during the course of the Police invasion cum crossfire with some of the indigenes.
