The Edo state police command are hunting for a commercial bus driver and conductor on suspicion of killing a 51-year old woman on last Saturday, November 21.
According to wintnesses, an argument over N20 change sparked a fight between a female passenger, the bus conductor and the driver.
At one point the woman, who was identified as Helen Ero, was hit on the chest with a spanner and immediately collapsed.
Despite other passengers asked the driver to take her to the hospital he obviously ignored their pleas.
Ms Ero’s body was found dumped along the road in the morning by family members.
She was a trader at New Benin Market and had boarded a bus going to Oluku at about 8:00pm.
Edo Police spokesman, Osifo Abiodun, said the policeexert every effort to find and arrest the suspects.
Officials of the Edo State Police command are currently working in cooperaion with the Drivers’ Welfare Association at the Ugbowo axis.
