According to Ekiti state media, the controversial governor was at the King’s market over the weekend to monitor the demolition of the old market. Just like the biblical woman with the issue of blood who struggled to touch the helm of Jesus’ garment, a handicapped woman, Tayo Abiodun, was around the market environment when she heard the governor was nearby.

She tried all she could do, maneuvering her way through the crowd to get the attention of the governor.  When she finally did, the governor asked her what she wanted and she said a wheelchair. Governor Fayose was said to have collected her phone number.

On Monday, November 9, Tayo was summoned to come to the governor’s office. She met with the special assistant to the governor on special duties, Ayo Alabi, who presented to her a brand new wheelchair on behalf of the state government.

The governor aide told newsmen that the gesture is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what the governor is ‘cooking’ for everyone in the state. He also said that the people should get set for another set of largess as the governor will soon be meeting with widows, women and youths for another round of empowerment.

Addressing news men, Abiodun prayed that the Lord continues to protect the family of the governor as well as the success of his administration while expressing her gratitude. She said: “I have moved north and south looking for helpers to no avail. My family has tried in vain to buy me this chair, but here I am with it today, just like that. I can’t count how many times I have fallen from the old chair, I thank the governor for listening to me, for meeting my need, may God continue to help Ayo Fayose.”

It is now evident that the controversial governor of Ekiti state loves to be talked about. He was at Awedele market, Ado Ekiti to check on traders who relocated from the demolished Oja Oba as well as to inspect the level of work done on the Awedele road dualization on Monday, November 9.

It was within the course of this inspection that some young men preparing this delicacy greeted him. He looked at them and saw their ready-made Asun (goat meat), the governor then took a time-out to served himself, to the delight of his people.
