London was coated in a thick blanket of fog and everyone took amazing photos

Fog smothered east London this morning

This morning, London was shrouded in a thick layer of fog.

The weather drastically reduced visibility on the roads, and led to dozens of flight disruptions at Heathrow and Gatwick.

But the good news is, Londoners went outside and took some amazing photos.

The city’s landmarks looked amazing…

If they could be seen at all

The whole capital looked a bit spookier

But also just really beautiful

Especially from above

The Met Office said drivers and cyclists should exercise caution on the roads, as the fog was ‘widespread and locally dense’.
