A 44-year-old man, Oluokun Olarewaju has been accused of slapping his wife’s friend, Christiana Duntoye for gossiping about him.
Olarewaju allegedly slapped Duntoye for telling his wife that she saw him with another woman, PM News reports.
According to report, the man and his wife who had been living peacefully over the years started having serious quarrels after the gossip.
His wife was said to have confronted him over the issue and he asked her how she came about it. She told him her friend gave her the information.
Duntoye paid a vist to her friend when she and her husband were having an argument over the matter and that was when he confronted her and slapped her three times.
After slapping her, he ordered her to leave their house, saying she wanted to destroy his marriage.
Not happy with the assault, Duntoye reported the matter at the Ikotun police division and
Olarewaju was arrested and later released on administrative bail.
He was later charged to court for assault and was arraigned before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Ejigbo, Lagos state.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
He was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum by the presiding Magistrate, A. A. Fashola.

Olarewaju was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail condition and the matter was adjourned till 30 November, 2015.
