Nigerians have take to the social media to express their disgust over the recent images of cancer-striken former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Mrs Alison-Madueke, Nigeria’s first female petroleum minister was allegedly caught with a huge amount of money in the United Kingdom and was subsequently arrested, even as she was being alleged to be responsible for the $20billion missing oil money.
And in a recent interview with famous publisher, Dele Momodu, the former minister revealed that she did not steal the amount she was alleged to have been missing from the federation’s coffers.
After the interview, photos of the minister went viral on the social media as many Nigerians expressed their sadness over her present state, while several others doubted the truth in the picture, claiming that a make-up artist came up with it just for the minister to draw public sympathy.
Some Nigerians also believe that Mrs Alison-Madueke must recover quickly and face her charges in the court and also explain what happened to the missing funds.
In their reactions on twitter, many Nigerians were quite philosophical in their tweets, with many stating that “wealth cannot buy health” and many others noting that people have also died following the former ministers’ corrupt practices.

Diezani can't steal that much money and not have cancer.
But she just removed wig and washed off makeup.
Diezani had cancer, Abacha died of Liver cirrhosis. Anyway, Federal ministry of Health warns that looters are likely to die young.
