A trailer loaded with stolen cement has been recovered by Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team in Sabon Gari-Zaria, Kaduna State.
This followed a distressed call received at the Control Room of the Joint Headquarters in Kaduna that a Dangote trailer loaded with cement was stolen at Giwa town in Giwa Local Government Area of the State.
A statement by the Special Assistant to Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan said, immediately, all Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Teams were alerted, stressing that the Sabon Gari-Zaria Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team intercepted the vehicle in Sabon Gari, Zaria and arrested the occupants of the vehicle.
The statement added that the trailer was handed over to the Area Commander, Sabon Gari – Zaria, while investigation was in progress to establish the criminal profile of the suspects for possible prosecution.
In another development, the statement explained that an Infinity Car Snatched by a notorious gang of armed criminals, along Zaria – Kaduna Expressway was recovered by Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team, following a distress call.
“All Patrol Teams were immediately alerted; the Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team at Sabon Tasha intercepted the vehicle in front of Conoil Filling Station, Gonin Gora and when the hoodlums sighted the patrol vehicle, they jumped out of the car and escaped, leaving behind the vehicle that was recovered and handed over to the State criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
Efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects while investigation is still in progress.
“A case of Culpable Homicide was also reported from Kateri along Abuja – Kaduna Highway in Kachia Local Government Area of the State by Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team that a gang of armed men stormed the hamlet of one Mamuda of Azara Village, shot and killed one Ahmadu Mamuda and also injured one Usman Ahmadu.
“But with the timely arrival of the Operation Yaki Patrol team, the gang escaped into the bush without removing anything from the scene of the incident.
“Meanwhile, intelligence has been intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects while surveillance team maintain aggressive patrol in the area,” the statement explained.
