Former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, and current Governor, Adams Oshiomhole have been fighting in the mud in the last two weeks over allegations and counter allegations of corruption. It took a frightening dimension on Tuesday when a group of elderly women protested half naked in Benin City in support of Igbinedion.
My problem with these guys is that they have simply been making general statements instead of addressing specific issues, with documents, facts and figures. Lucky Igbinedion needs to explain his role (with facts and figures) in the $31 million allegedly fraudulently taken from the government coffers during his tenure as governor. He also needs to address the issue of himself and his father (Chief Gabriel Igbinedion) converting government properties and funds meant for the people of the state to private use during his tenure.
