A federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to release the international passport of a former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
The court gave the order on Tuesday morning.
Justice A.F.A. Ademola, who gave the order, said this was to enable Dasuki seek medical treatment abroad.
Ademola said every Nigerian has the right to seek medical help wherever he feels he can get it.
He said the accused can only stand trial if he is healthy.
Ademola thus told the Chief Registrar of the court, to whom the DSS was asked to deposit the deposit, to release Dasuki’s international passport to him to enable him travel abroad for treatment.
Dasuki is standing trial on charges of gun running and illegal possession of firearms.
