SIMON Cowell shocked the audience at the Music Industry Trust awards with his speech.
It seemed the X Factor boss may have had one tipple too many when he collected his award from One Direction.

Taking to the stage to accept the accolade for recognition of his contribution to the music and entertainment industry and charitable causes, he said: "Just by luck I get the award I've been wanting all my life and I'm completely hammered."
He then added to Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan: "Guys, who misses Zayn?"
Eric's dad mentioned his 20 month old son in his speech saying: "I hope he will be standing here in 23 years time as I'm being wheeled into the Grosvenor House Hotel on my second pack of cigarettes."
Simon also poked fun at himself as he thanked the inventor of botox.

"You have no idea how much money you've made me," he said. "I can't look surprised but... "
Lauren Silverman's partner dedicated his award to his late father and mother who passed away earlier this year.
A number of A-list stars paid tribute to Simon in a video piece that was played at the ceremony.
It included Oprah Winfrey, Prime Minister David Cameron, James Corden, Richard Curtis, Kevin Spacey, old pal Louis Walsh, X Factor alum Little Mix and Ella Henderson swell as fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
