Ogun state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali
Six armed robbers have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
The suspects were identified as: Temituru Oluwafemi, Ibrahim Hakeem, Bablola Olufujabi, Ajadi Adesoji, Taye Ogede and Bakare Sakiru.
They were said to have been arrested last Friday by policemen attached to the Onipanu Division in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects specialised in robbery and snatching of cars at Ire-Akari Community and other areas of Ado Odo/ Ota.
He said, “The suspects were arrested by the police operatives after a tip-off from the community and a thorough surveillance placed on the suspects throughout the night.”
Adejobi said at least four out of the suspected armed robbers had been identified by victims of their various operations in the local government area and beyond.
He said a black Golf 3 car with number plate LSR 86 CA, weapons and assorted charms were recovered from them.
He added, “The state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta for proper investigation and prosecution.”
