The meeting took place inside the president’s office at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, Daily Trust reports.
The minister of defence, Brigadier-General Mansur Dan-Ali (retd) was at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the service chiefs left without speaking to journalists.
Though details of the meeting are unknown, it was gathered that it had to do with the ongoing counter terrorism efforts of the federal government.
This meeting is coming less than a week after army chiefs held a security meeting which took place at the military command and control centre in Maimalari barracks, Maiduguri.
Recall that President Buhari had given the service chiefs December deadline to end the Boko Haram insurgency. In October when they met, they assured the president that the December deadline to end Boko Haram activities in North-east Nigeria would be met.
Report recently surfaced that the president may change his mind about the deadline as it may not be feasible anymore.
