He said the details on his administration’s anti-corruption campaign would become clearer at the end of the first quarter of 2016.
The president was speaking Wednesday during his administration’s maiden media chat.
He said the government would work with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that the truth is known.
“I feel that Nigerians have to know the truth, and the truth in terms of what has been recovered; in terms of bank statement, where the money was sourced, where it was lodged, how much; whether it is money from NNPC or directly from central bank. When we do that, I feel Nigerians will feel better,” said Mr. Buhari.
Mr. Buhari said he had declared his assets four times, and that it was the duty of Ministry of Justice to furnish Nigerians with the details of his declarations.
“All the declarations are documented with the Ministry of Justice, so if the Ministry of Justice cannot disclose my declaration then they too should answer some question,” he said.
The president said he was not aware of any member of his cabinet facing corruption case.
“I don’t think I have picked anybody that I know will embarrass my government,” he said. “I know that consciously, I have not taken any body among the ministers who have got a case in court of corruption,” he noted.
He added that any cabinet member found wanting in his administration would be dismissed.
