Kim Kardashian has announced via her website that her baby boy has arrived a few weeks early.
The little man wasn’t due until closer to Christmas, but, following a procedure to have the baby turned from the breech position, it was thought Kim might go into labour early.
And she has, and he’s here.
A statement from Kim and Kanye’s rep said:
‘Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well.’
Kim had recently posted an Instagram snap of her bump saying ‘ready for you now’
She also posted that she’d reached 37 weeks – considered full term although her little boy wasn’t actually due until 40 weeks – but had been suffering with the flu.
Speaking of the successful procedure she underwent to have the baby turned, she said: ‘This weekend I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position.
‘They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby. There was a risk that my water might break or the baby’s heart rate could drop – in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband. I was prepared for it all! (sic)’
But thankfully it sounds like it’s all gone well and he’s arrived safely. Watch this space to find out the all important name.
Congrats guys!
