Fire on Tuesday gutted the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mega Station in Dutse, NAN reports.
A staff of the station, who pleaded for anonymity, told NAN that a 40,000-liter tanker, which brought petroleum, caught fire while offloading.
The source said the incident happened at about 5:30 p.m.
“The good thing is that it did not affect anyone as those on duty ran for safety,” he said.
The source stated that the cause of the fire was yet unknown.
NAN reports that men of the state fire service and Dutse International Airport were on ground to put out the fire.
Effort to speak with the officials of the station failed as the supervisor of the station, Malam Balarabe could not be reached.
The State Commandant of National Security and Civil Defence Corps, Malam Muhammad Fari, who confirmed the incident, told NAN that he had since drafted his men to the scene of the incident.
