MUMBAI: Five Nigerians have been arrested for allegedly possessing cocaine worth Rs 12.60 lakh, police said here today.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of CID, DCB and Anti Narcotic Cell, Worli Unit, laid a trap yesterday and nabbed the accused foreign nationals near a petrol pump on P D'Mello Road at Wadibunder in South Mumbai, a senior police officer said.
"The accused were in possession of 210 grams of cocaine worth Rs 12.60 lakh," he said adding all of them have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In a special drive against drug activities of foreign nationals in south Mumbai, police have arrested 11 persons and recovered cocaine worth 22, 80,000 in three different raids in the recent past.
