AN online dater who 'devastated' a woman by giving her HIV after meeting on a website was jailed for two years and two months.
Simba Kuuya, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, knowingly had the illness for four years but kept it secret from his lover and continued to have unprotected sex.
The victim, who cannot be named, only found out about the 32-year-old's condition when they broke up and another of his ex partners contacted her via Facebook.
Kuuya has 14 previous convictions for 25 different offences
Following this the victim saught a blood test and the results came back positive.
Judge Christopher Vosper, sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, told Kuuya: "Her life has been completely changed by being infected - something that could easily have been avoided if you had been honest from the start.
"You chose to conceal something from her that you should have been open about.
"The consequences have been devastating."
