WHOLEMEAL bread from Sainsbury's is being recalled after small pieces of metal were found within loaves.
The Food Standards Agency said all 800g loaves of the store's own wholemeal bread, medium and thick slices, with a best before date before of January 19 should be returned to store.
Sainsbury's said in a notice to customers: "We have been made aware of the possible presence of tiny metal pieces in a small number of the products.
"As a precautionary measure, we are asking customers who have purchased this product with the best before date (January 19) to return it to their nearest Sainsbury's store, where they will receive a full refund.
"No other products or date codes are affected by this issue, and we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause."
The product recall notice also states it is products with EAN numbers 315789 (thick sliced) and 280457 (medium sliced) which have been affected.
