Recognised for his entire body of work over the last year, including Legend, Mad Max and London Road, Hardy was named British/Irish Actor of the Year at the ceremony on Sunday night.
Winslet was on hand to collect her Best Supporting Actress trophy for Steve Jobs, just one week after winning the same prize at the Golden Globes.
The big wins of the night went to George Miller’s action epic Mad Max: Fury Road, which beat off competition from The Revenant, Carol and Room to be named Film of the Year.
Miller was also named Best Director for the film, which co-stars Charlize Theron.
The other big winner at the ceremony, held at the May Fair Hotel, was 45 Years, which was named British/Irish Film of the Year.
Charlotte Rampling, who has just been Oscar nominated, was named Actress of the Year for her role while Tom Courtenay won the Actor of the Year prize.
Other big British wins included Mark Rylance, who bagged the award for Best Supporting Actor for Bridge of Spies.
Maisie Williams was named Young British/Irish Performer of the Year while Saoirse Ronan won British/Irish Actor of the Year for the Oscar-nominated Brooklyn.
Bringing the ceremony to a close, Dame Judi Dench took to the stage to honour her friend and co-star Kenneth Branagh.
Dench, who shares a stage with the actor and filmmaker in A Winter’s Tale, presented him with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film.
