About six Seminarians with the Catholic Church have met their tragic and untimely death in a fatal auto crash while on their way to a programme.
The six Catholic Seminarians of St Joseph Paris, Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state, on Monday, lost their lives in a fatal auto crash.
According to Daily Post, the Seminarians, who were 16 on board their missionary vehicle, were on their way to Community Encounter programme in Enugu state from Ikot-Ekpene when the ill-fated incident happened.
A source revealed that the driver was on top speed when one of the rear tyres burst. He said the driver lost control and the bus somersaulted, leaving six of them in the pool of their blood.
One of those killed was identified simply as Emmy, believed to be in his late 20’s, and another, Dozie whom a source described as the future hope of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Okofia Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra state.
The 10 survivors are now receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital, while the deceased have since been deposited at the morgue.
As at press time, all efforts to reach the Enugu high-way command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, were abortive.
