“We Are Now Back In Touch”: Singer Sir Elton John Ends Bitter 8 – Year Feud With His Mum Sheila

British singer Sir Elton John, 68, has ended his 8-year-old feud with his mum Sheila Farebrother after he confirmed they had put things behind them when he said , “We are now back in touch.” The bitter feud had been on since 2008.

According to Sir Elton, he and his mother Sheila, 90, have been back in touch for several for several weeks. The singer said: “Out of respect for my mother’s privacy, I have always shied away from speaking publicly about our relationship.

“However, I can say that we are now back in touch and have been so since my mother’s 90th birthday.” Sir Elton John then added: “I won’t be commenting further on this.”

The singer’s bust-up with his mum started when she refused to cut off contact with two of her son’s oldest friends, Bob Halley and John Reid, after he fell out with them. It’s learnt that Bob had worked for Elton for three decades, first as a driver then later as a personal assistant, before he was fired as part of a series of changes the singer was making to his team. As for Reid, he played the role of Elton’s manager and lover though the love relationship was brief. He also helped guide the early stages of Elton John’s music career.

Sheila also blamed Elton’s husband David Furnish for turning her son against her while in reality, the filmmaker who has been with the singer since 1993,has been encouraging the singer to make amends with his mother.
