Odion Ighalo, Watford striker, says he was not injured in Sunday’s FA Cup game against Arsenal.
He had hobbled out of the match in which he scored the opener in a 2-1 upset of the FA Cup defending champions.
There were fears that he may not be available for Nigeria’s all-important Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt.
“Iggy”, as nicknamed by his captain Troy Deeney, told TheCable: “I am fine. It’s nothing to be worried about. As you could see after the referee blew the whistle, I came on to the pitch and started jumping up to celebrate with my team.
“Being taken off was just a precautionary measure by the coach to be sure it’s nothing serious. And as it turned out, it’s nothing.
“I am good to go for the next game. And Nigerians shouldn’t be scared. There’s nothing to be worried about.”
Odion said he felt happy for scoring one of the goals that sent Arsenal out of the world’s oldest competition.
“I feel so happy scoring today. I have looked forward to this in the last couple of games but I thank God that I am able to do that today,” he said.
” I am gearing up to score more goals in our other matches.”
