The Ekiti State House of Assembly, Akanni Afolabi, who was picked up on March 4th by the operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) and became the subject of a death scare in the custody of the DSS last week, regained his freedom yesterday.
Ekiti Lawmaker, Afolabi Akanni, who has been in detention at the Department of State Services facilities, was released Tuesday evening and admitted in a private hospital in Abuja.
The lawmaker who was freed after 18 days in DSS detention was immediately admitted in a private hospital in Abuja for treatment.
It was gathered that he was very weak and could barely speak when a correspondent visited him at the hospital, as he kept repeating, "I am not well. I am sick. I am sick."
He said his release may not be unconnected with his deteriorating health situation, adding that he was not told by the DSS operatives why he was he held.
