The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, has hit town with renewed efforts to retain his office as the party's national convention draws nearer.
There are reports that while Sheriff and his associates have been holding series of meetings with influencers in the party, he has also bought campaign vehicles to achieve his aim.
Scheduled to hold on May 21, 2016 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Punch Newspaper reports that the former governor has intensified efforts to retain his position as the party's chairman with recent activities.

It was reported further that to ease the movement of his campaign team, the incumbent chairman has acquired some vehicles, among which was a Honda SUV, which was spotted at the party's national secretary in Abuja.
It was further reported that Ali Modu is leaving no stone unturned in vying for the exalted position, which is keenly contested by other members of the party.
The ex-governor of Borno State and a member of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, joined other political parties to form the All Progressive Congress, APC, but was lured to the PDP, by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan while running for his second term.
