This call was contained in a statement signed by the group’s leader, Ahmad Amadi Jnr.
According to the statement, “We urge the government of Nigeria to condemn these wanton acts firmly and declare the perpetrators terrorists and an insurgency according to the law and deal with them with the full power of the military.”
The group stressed that Islam forbids killing and teaches “that anyone who kills a human being- it shall be as though he has killed all of the mankind; if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he has saved the lives of all mankind.”
Members of the group also expressed sympathies to those affected by the cruel attacks of the herdsmen.
“We express our condolences and sympathize with the people of Benue, Enugu, Delta, Anambra, etc. and government of Nigeria and the families of the victims killed by the ‘Fulani herdsmen.’
“We stand with the victims in solidarity during these difficult times. We pray for Allah to expose the sponsors and the real perpetrators and they must face justice.”
