The spokesman of the Federal House of Representatives, yesterday confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sign the 2016 budget.
Abdurazaq Namdas, the spokesman of the House of Representatives at the National Assembly, Abuja, has confirmed yesterday that President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sign the 2016 national budget.
While confirming the development to journalists, Namdas said the President returned the controversy-ridden budget to the National Assembly citing some grey areas that needs to be adjusted, which he refused to disclose.
"I can confirm to you that we are in possession of the letter from the president identifying grey areas," Namdas said.
It can be recalled that the National Assembly had in March 23 passed the bill and later transmitted it to the President for his assent. But Buhari refused to assent, citing omission of certain projects in the document among others as reason for the delay in signing the appropriation bill.
