I write this piece, not because I am less busy or feel like writing BUT because I am no longer finding it funny and amazing to reason out why some set of peace-abhorring people, or let me say a peace-abhorring tribe (if I am right) would just decide to interrupt the peace of other peace-loving tribes who in no course, had offended or plagued them.
Hmmmmm! I still find it very difficult to understand why "human beings" (I doubt if they ever are) will take delight in invading other human beings' dwellings and unleash bloody terror on them for whatever reasons at all. It has gotten me to that level where I think even Mr Lucifer himself will be afraid and at the same time surprised of these so called "Fulanis" now because I don't think he had such wickedness to cause such great disturbances they already caused. My fellow reasonable Nigerians, can anyone tell me which is more important; a fellow man or cattle? "Kai" like they will say, this is just too perturbing and deranging.
If we must analyse this issue, why would these blood thirsty lamia decide to emigrate from their abode that is "not-so-forage-blossoming" under the guise of cattle-grazing when their initial agenda was to obliterate their hosting tribes from within the same Nigeria that those victims actually suffered to build? I must confess that they have seen the accommodating nature of these victim-tribes and feel it is a weakness and a sure loophole through which they can achieve their heinous purpose BUT I am very sure and at the same time afraid IT IS NOT.
Imagine those old men and women (even youths) in the affected areas; imagine the stress and the tenseness they must have passed through (even in the face of all these hardships existing in Nigeria) to work establish and maintain their farmlands; consider most of these people use the cash returns from these farms to train their children, keep "bodies and souls together" and feed on the little rest. So, how on earth do we think they will just sit down, fold their hands, stand aloof, look away and pretend all is well when actually nothing is well?
Now, since our newly elected President was enthroned (about eleven months ago), there has been an upsurge in the trend of the tohubohu caused by these herdsmen. I have taken considerable amount of my valued time to study this situation and almost all the Nigerians saying one or two things about this same case are saying 95% the same thing. Why should some set of people invade our peaceful communities and end up shattering them just because they are being prevented from destroying the source of livelihood of many homes (destroying of farmlands by mere cows)? I even heard they are not original Nigerians and I am beginning to believe that.
Back to what I was saying, why will vampiric hooligans from a particular part of a country invade, impose and force themselves on other parts with no definite obvious action or instruction coming from the power house of that same country (where people from all over the different parts of the country voted the lead man in) to address the situation? Since when these herdsmen have started perpetrating this act that is evil before God and men, no statement has been made from the so called "Power-house", no statement from the DSS, no statement from the NPF but let one Fulani die of just stomach ache in any part of the country (other than in the North), you will begin to hear the news of suspicious murder of a Fulani man by the natural-residents of that area.....why?
In Nigeria, we have lives and we have LIVES. The Nigeria of today, as deduced from the actions of our President, is the Nigeria of the Fulanis and as a result, Fulani lives are the recognised in the land, irrespective of where they are and the act (of crime) they are committing. The law of the land is not meant for them to be obeyed; it is meant for the non-Fulanis and the opposition in politics. You are puzzled to hear this? Of course you should not, because if over five hundred lives had been taken by them in the Agatu area of Benue State and recently another one hundred lives was also ended by them in Enugu (considering the building up of tension already in that part of the country) with no singular action we can pin-point to have been taken by the man who swore under oath to treat all citizens equal, then you should now know that not every "Nigerian" occupying the present day Nigeria is a recognised citizen.
Now that we are at this very dangerous time in our dear country; the time when real wild animals are no longer devouring us (this would have been very fortunate for us because we can easily identify these animals and can promptly and duly take cover) but the fake ones wearing our human looks as camouflage with (great) power on their side, what do you think we can do to salvage ourselves and our coming generations? We have shown love, they hated it. We have shown generosity by accommodating them in our land, they detested it. We have proven to them we wanted peace, they chorused "no!!!". We have gone an extra length to even put one of them in our engine room, what they learnt from that is to see it as a very great opportunity to maim, butcher and massacre us. They have vowed to stop at nothing to see the end of the peace-loving majority but we have to let them know that being peace-loving does not transliterate, or rather translate to being foolish.
They have long started to ravage the inhabitants of the Middle Belt, yesterday they shifted to the East, I am beginning to see the manner they move now with little doubt that they will soon extend to both the South West and proceed to the South-south to finish their unfinished businesses of cruelty. If like this we will retrieve to our sheds thinking it will be well naturally, we then are voluntarily submitting our fate for them to decide it for us. And be readily assured, they will decide it in a way you will be forced to curse GOD; thereby making you suffer on earth in their hands and in eternity (for cursing GOD).
Before I cap my pen, it should be remembered that because one has power does not mean he is going to be the winner. In every competition, a strong man tends to end up being at the mercy of his intelligent fellow contestant; This shows that power does not necessarily mean victory, the power has to be exercised with "brain inside the skull" This is just a proverb for all of them that deem it fit to ponder upon. Today, they are oppressing the real Nigerians because power is on their side, let them not rejoice too much because the NIGERIA and the NIGERIANS I know will never go on her knees for some destroyers that originated from where I don't know.
