The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has been slammed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal for causing the lingering fuel crisis.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, on Wednesday caused a mild drama as he tackled the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, over the current fuel crisis in the country.
The incident happened at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja as members of the Federal Executive Council waited for the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari.
It was gathered that the mild outburst came after the SGF tried unsuccessfully to make ministers who were busy exchanging pleasantries settle down ahead of Buhari’s arrival.
Disturbed by the rowdy situation, Lawal looked round and saw Kachikwu shaking hands and discussing with a colleague before shouting jokingly: “Kachikwu, there is no fuel and you are there shaking hands!”
As the ministers laughed away the joke, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola also replied Lawal, saying, “There is fuel. It is N107.”
The meeting which is ongoing has President Muhammadu Buhari presiding as they discuss the current issue of strike, petrol hike and fuel subsidy.
