How tanker crushed two pupils to death in Ilorin

There was confusion in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Wednesday when a water tanker reportedly crushed two school children to death.
The tanker’s brake reportedly failed and it rammed into the school children who were on their way to school through a popular market, Ipata.

Two other persons were said to have sustained major injuries in the incident which happened at about 12pm.


Youths in the area were said to have destroyed the vehicle.

The driver, however, escaped.

When contacted, the state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Sunday Maku, confirmed to newsmen that investigations had commenced into the accident and efforts were being made to apprehend the fleeing truck driver.
