Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has expressed optimism that he would emerge as the party’s Chairman in the forthcoming National Convention.
Sheriff, who disclosed this yesterday while addressing journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, stressed that he will do everything possible to emerge victorious at the party’s national convention slated for Port Harcourt but acknowledged that only God crowns leaders.
According to him, “It is God that crowns leaders. My own is to do the right thing and sell myself to members of our party. With God on our side, I’m confident that our people will give me the mandate to lead them at this point in time.”
The former Senator from Borno State also expressed hope that the people of Taraba will throw their weight behind him at the convention, saying his people of Kanuri and the Jukuns share the same ancestry.
