BREAKING: Modu Sheriff storms PDP Sacretariat to take over

Erstwhile chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as early as 7am on Monday stormed the National Secretariat of the opposition party to take over the affairs of the party, but was prevented from gaining entrance to the Wadata Plaza secretariat by security operatives.

Sheriff, who led his supporters to the PDP headquarters, told journalists that he would not leave until he is allowed entrance into the secretariat.

It would be recalled that the former Borno governor was the party’s chairman before the party’s national convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on May 21.

Before leaving the Rivers State capital that day, he announced the cancellation of the convention, citing court orders. However, other leaders of the party however, went ahead with the convention and also announced his sack and the appointment of a caretaker committee headed by former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi.
