The former military warlord said he was committed to the Nigerian project because he had no other country to call his own.
IBB, as he is fondly called, made this declaration yesterday in Minna, the Niger State capital, when he received the Chairman and members of the Niger State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
According to him, “I am ready and willing to continuously offer beneficial advice to the federal and state governments”.
The PDP working committee led by the state chairman of PDP, Tanko Beji, visited the former Military President at his uphill residence on his return to the country after a medical check- up.
General Babangida said: ”I am committed to the Project Nigeria because I have no other country that I can call my own.”
He further called on Nigerians to support governments at all levels, saying “‘without our support, the governments cannot achieve their plans for the states and the nation.”
The former military ruler expressed gratitude to the delegation for finding time to visit him and assured them that he would always be available when called upon.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Beji prayed God to grant the former military President sound health to serve the state and the nation longer.
He urged Babangida not to relent in his advisory role, saying “the younger generation is happy to be tapping from your wealth of experience.”
