8 thousand British pound is needed to fly the remains of the late Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo, back to Nigeria, ‘New Telegraph’ learnt Monday.
Oba Sonariwo, 80, passed on on Saturday in the United Kingdom.
The traditional ruler, who was the current chairman of Ogun State Council of Obas, had travelled out of the country to the United Kingdom for medical check-up before he eventually died.
But speaking in a telephone interview with reporters Monday, a prominent monarch and the Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu, Oba Timothy Oguntayo, said the Remo Traditional Council would need £8,000 to fly the remains of the late Akarigbo back to Nigeria.
Oba Akinsanya disclosed that the council had already sent a representative to the state government help in meeting the expenses.
