Journalists were at the at the EFCC headquarters to follow up on the petition by Abdulmumin Jibrin against Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, and 11 others.
Jibrin arrived at the EFCC office to meet with Ibrahim Magu, chairman of the commission, over the “budget padding” allegations he levelled against the speaker.
Upon Jibrin’s arrival, the journalists were instructed to stay outside the premises.
No explanation was given as to why journalists were excused from the commission’s premises.
Also, Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of the commission, could not be reached for explanations.
Earlier, the former appropriations committee chairman was at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Department of State Security (DSS) to file petitions against Dogara and others.
Jibrin is accusing Dogara and 11 others of padding the 2016 budget.
