However, she expressed assurance her husband was “definitely going to win because most of the people collecting the money were saying they will collect the money and vote PDP”.
Speaking with TheCable at Ward 2, Unit 2, where she cast her ballot, Ize-Iyamu said the PDP was in possession of documentary evidence against APC.
“We are watching so far. The APC has been inducing voters, giving them N3,000, N2,000. We have documented the evidence, and we have been alerting security agencies,” she said.
“There has been subtle intimidation of voters. They have been telling them to write down their names as soon as they collect the money, and show the party agents the thumb printed ballot papers, but we have raised the alarm and they know that we are aware and we are watching them.
“So far, so good, the turnout has been very impressive, and we are just waiting for the end of the vote.”
Asked of the chances of her husband, she said: “He is definitely going to win because most of the people collecting the money were saying they will collect the money and vote PDP.
“The APC people have threatened to beat them after the election, but the people are motivated. I got here around 6:30, and I saw a lot of people. Many are saying today is the end of APC in Edo state.”
