Eight new universities have been added to the old ones in Nigeria as President Muhammadu Buhari gave the approval today.
The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, approved the establishment of eight new private universities for the country. According to Punch, the decision was taken at a meeting of the council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The new universities include Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos; Clifford University; Coal City University; Dominican University, Ibadan, Kola Daisi University, Ibadan; Legacy University, Okija among others.
Buhari ordered that all the new universities are to be mentored by the older ones.
According to him, Anchor University will be mentored by the University of Lagos, Jarvis University by the University of Calabar and Clifford University by the University of Agriculture, Umudike.
Coal City University will be mentored by the University of Nigeria Nsukka;
Crown Hill University by the University of Ilorin; while the two new universities in Oyo State, Kola Daisy and Dominican universities, will be mentored by the University of Ibadan.
Legacy University, Okija, will be mentored by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
