Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung seems to have mounted more pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari for an immediate sack after a round of grammatical blunders during an accountability meeting at the green chamber.
House of Representatives Committee on Sports recently met with the controversial Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung over how the financial allocations to his ministry was expended in the last one year.
Dalung appeared to have spent funds above the budget provisions for the year 2016. As he took questions from the members of the House of Representatives Committee on sports, Dalung made some heart-rending spoken English errors that have distracted listeners from his explanations.
Read excerpts from his interview:
"Before we left for Rio, we wrote and requested for and requested for the release of money appropriated for in the budget and it has not been released for the federation"
He then commented on funding for the Rio Brazil 2016 where he made unspeakable grammatical blunders that have caught the attention of social media users who have been on the case of the Plateau politician for a while.
"450 million was appropriated and we spent far far far beyond that. Monies that were given to the federation couldn't have been monies meant for the Olympics.
When questioned about the financial anomaly of spending above the budget funds as raised by a House of Reps Committee member, Danburam Nuhu he said:
"The funds SPENDED were properly SPENDED because we got them from intervention funds," he said.
It would be recalled that Mr. Dalung has been heavily blamed for the delay in the payment of the financial entitlements of the victorious Super Falcons who took to the premises of the National Assembly to protest the ill-treatment by the Nigerian government.
