THE Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, in Anambra State has threatened to shut down the courts in the state next week if its members’ 2016 leave allowances were not paid before the end of work tomorrow (Friday).

The state chairman of JUSUN, Mr. Mark Ifezue, who spoke on the impending strike, yesterday, also demanded N50 million capital votes for the last quarter of 2016 fiscal year from the state government.
According to Ifezue, investigation by JUSUN showed that the Accountant-General of the state, Ms Ngozi Okonkwo, was deliberately frustrating the release of the money for the payment of the workers’ leave allowances, even when other ministries and parastatals in the state collected theirs before last Christmas.
