The Army confirmed the development on Tuesday, January 3 through its spokesman Brigadier-General Sani Kukasheka Usman.

Usman revealed that the Army is not working alone to stop the killing. Also working with it are the police and the Department of State Service (DSS).

Usman also confirmed the earlier report by Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai that at least one military formation would be created in the region to further deter attackers from killing people in the area.
