Two suspects arrested in Delta for allegedly killing 87 years old man

Two suspects in connection with the murder of an 87 years old man, Chief Gilbert Oshevire, have been arrested by the police in Delta state. One of the suspects, Peter Oshevire, according to the Delta state police public relations officer, Andrew Aniamaka, is the younger brother to the late chief.

The 87 years old man was said to have been found murdered by unknown assailants on December 17, 2016 in Kokori, an agrarian community in Ethiope East local government area of the state.
But as manhunt for the assailants gathered momentum by the police, two suspects, Eze Ighowunu, 19 and Peter Oshevire, 54 both of the same Kokori Inland community in the council area were arrested in connection with the crime.
Delta state police public relations officer, Andrew Aniamaka, told NAIJ.com that the duo were arrested following intense combing of the area by the police. The two suspects are cooling their feet in police custody pending when they would be brought to the court to defend their case.
He said the police in the state would do everything possible to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the Chief Oshevire and arrest possible accomplices in the crime who may be on run.
While expressing his condolences to the deceased’s family, he said the police command has vowed that suspects involved in other crimes under investigation in the command will be fished out and brought to justice.
