But, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr. Don Awunah, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), denied knowledge of any operation by men of the Force.
“I’m not aware of any operation by our men in a house in Maitama that belongs to the brother of former First Lady. I have been asking questions,” the FPRO said.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which has been investigating the former First Lady, also denied that its operatives conducted any search on the said residence.
When contacted for comments, its spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, simply said: “There is nothing like that.”
It was further learnt that the operation, which commenced about 5:00pm, did not last too long, as former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife and other family members, were not at home as at the time of operation.
The EFCC has frozen several accounts allegedly linked to the former First Lady, who had petitioned the House of Representatives, alleging harassment by the anti-graft agency.
