President Muhammadu Buhari has issued orders to security agencies in a bid to stop the violence in the southern part of Kaduna.
President Muhammadu Buhari has given orders that decisive measures be taken to end the recurring acts of violence and destruction in the southern part of Kaduna state.

The president has equally directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to carry out a joint assessment of the situation with the sister agency in Kaduna, SEMA, to determine the level of response required for urgent aid to the victims of the violence.
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, on Thursday, December 5, said Buhari gave the orders over the past week with the aim bringing an end to the recurring acts of violence in the area.
Shehu said following the president’s directive, the inspector-general of police, Ibrahim Idris, was in the affected areas on Saturday and Sunday, December 31 and January 1, to assess the situation at first hand.
He said in addition to the conventional policemen deployed in the area, a squadron of mobile policemen has now been stationed there.

The presidential spokesman added that the Nigerian Army is also in the process of setting up two battalions in Southern Kaduna while the military continues to carry out air surveillance across flash points of the area.
He said the president has sent condolences to the people of southern Kaduna, who have lost loved ones in the recent violence.
Meanwhile, Catholic bishops have lamented the incessant killings in different areas of the country, noting that such killings are tantamount to a declaration of war on helpless and innocent Nigerians.
Arch Bishop Ignatius Kaigama, the President, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), noted that the level of wanton destruction of lives and properties is at an alarming rate in the country.
In a statement released on Thursday, January 5, the Bishop urged Nigerians to have a rethink of their attitudes toward humanity.
He noted that people had rough and tough times when innocent Nigerians lost their lives in places like Agatu, Madagali, Gwoza, Yobe, Plateau, Taraba, Nasarawa, Anambra, Abia and now Southern Kaduna.
