Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili has lashed out at the President Muhammadu Buhari administration accusing it of making wrong economic decision and still standing by them.
The co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls group in a chat with The Interview said she was not comfortable with the economic policies of the Buhari administration so far.
Ezekwesili who is the former vice president of the World Bank said the government has been making confusing decisions.
She said: “I am not a fan of the economic policies of this government so far.
“I feel it’s too tentative in making even the right policy decisions and even when it tries to make the right policy decisions, it has been in the breach. It has been very confusing.
“It’s not that the government is timid; it’s about doing the wrong things and being adamant about them.”
She advised the government to engage the citizens better and called for structural reforms.
In the interview which was conducted before the trip to Sambisa, Ezekwesili said the Chibok girls’ saga has exposed Nigeria in its worst form.
Meanwhile, Ezekwesili expressed deep disappointment in the leadership of Buhari following the accidental bombing of IDPs camp in Rann, Borno state on Tuesday, January 17 by Nigerian Air Force jets.
In the tweets in which she tagged the president’s personal handle, Ezekwesili accused him of failing to show to his people that he is aware of their problems and that he cares.
She pointed to the president’s failure to visit some of the major flashpoints that have cost citizens their lives across the country and also to his failure to speak up on some incidents as reasons for her disappointment in the president’s method of leadership.
