Wike, who spoke in Ahoada East Local Government Area, during the defection of former APC Chieftain and former Ahoada East Local Government Chairman, Mr. Cassidy Ikegbidi, noted that the dismissal of the policemen was aimed at discouraging other policemen from protecting him.
