I’m born again, I have no mistress in the US - Governor Okowa
- Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has personally come out to speak on the $10million allegation against him
- He said the allegation of wiring $10million through a mistress in the United States was false
- Okowa said he is a born again Christian and he has no business with mistress
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state on Tuesday came out personally to clear the air on the burning issue of $10million where he was alleged to have wired same to a mistress in the United States of America.
The $10million allegation was blown open on Saturday, January 28, 2017 where the dailies reported that a certain governor in the south south had wired $10million through a mistress resident in the United States.

But while the dailies did not mention the name of the governor involved, reports emerged that the said governor involved was allegedly Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state.
But Okowa, during a media briefing with journalists at the state government house in Asaba on Tuesday, told journalists that he had given his life to Christ some time ago and now he is a Christian.

According to him: “I want to believe that you yourself you can’t believe that story. Our party, the PDP has made a response and I don’t want to talk much on that.
“People who know me as Okowa know my pattern of life. I gave my life to Christ several years ago. I know where I come from and what I stand for. I wouldn’t want to join issues with people on this.
“I’m here to be accountable to people. In the first instance, monies are not released in dollars to state governments. I don’t believe in mistresses. That is not part of me.

“I have given account severally on how we spend our money. If Jesus could be accused, who am I? I can be accused of money. You should convince yourself that that story was spurious and false.”
His commissioner for information, Patrick Ukah and Chief Press Secretary, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, had also said the allegation against the governor was false and should not be taken seriously.
On the issue of his relationship with former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Okowa said he had no issues with the former governor and they are friends.
